Introduced in 26th January 1982 by Indian Railways in association with the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation “Palace on Wheels” is not just a well-known/oldest luxury train of Rajasthan but it is an enduring way of adoring the beauty and grandiosity of Rajasthan in a sortie of eight days!!!!
Offering a week long journey, this train will take you on some of the most fascinating places such as Delhi, Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur / Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Bharatpur / Agra. Here you won’t only get a chance to go on an expedition of different historical as well as cultural monuments but along with you also enjoy spectacular cultural performances, exquisite flora and fauna, vivacious Bazaars, and some incredible handicraft items that are famous world-wide. Far away from the busy life, you will surely enjoy your journey start from the Safdarjung railway Station, New Delhi to end (return at the same place “Delhi”).

1) Cabins:
Fourteen fully air-conditioned cabins which can accommodate up to 88 passengers in a single journey are boasting for its glorious lavishness and gracefulness. Its antique wooden furniture with beautiful delicate artworks, rich silk fabrics, cushioned beds and amazing decor reminds one of complete luxurious comforts experienced by the former Indian royalty.
Adding more to its fame,every cabin is accomplished with all world-class modern facilities such as attached bathroom with plush toiletries, Channel music system, electronic safety deposit, internet connectivity, individual temperature control, telephone, etc. To top that, a major attraction is availability of a special attendant called “Khidmatgar” at your beck and call that meets all your travel needs.

2) Dining & Wining:
Two tastefully restaurants, “The Maharaja” and “The Maharani” with a Rajasthani ambience serving palate tickling Continental, Chinese, India and Rajasthani cuisines to the guests. The restaurants offer seating arranged in groups of twos and fours near the windows. Does not matter, what you order Continental/Indian, here Chefs in the attached pantry prepare your specialties with an accent of the cuisine of Rajasthan.
As far as the bar is concerned there is a well-stock bar serving the finest of both Indian and International beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). Along with this, there is also a sitting lounge where you can relax and have some fun time. To enjoy the beverages, you will have to pay additional charges.
